Selfnock arrows

Self-nocking arrows are primitive and simple, with a sawn slot as a nock. They are often wrapped with yarn for extra stability. At Bogensport Beier they are carefully made by hand.

The self-nock arrow - one of the most original

The most original nock is the Selfnock, which used to consist of a slot simply sawn into the end of the shaft. This saw slot must of course be sawn across the grain of the wood. Otherwise the shaft would split when fired due to the pressure of the string. For additional safety and stability, a wrap can be placed around the shaft below the cam, for example made of yarn.

The self-nocking arrows from Bogensport Beier are made by hand with great care in our in-house arrow factory.
