What does “BY BEIER GERMANY” mean?

Where do your products come from?

How high is the quality of your bows?
  • Our bows are tested according to strict quality guidelines. Only bows that meet our high standards receive the BOGENSPORT BEIER laser engraving and leave our bow workshop.
What is a take-down bow?
  • Take-down bows can be disassembled into three parts: riser and two limbs. This makes transport easier and allows the limbs to be exchanged to adjust draw weight.
What is a rattan bow?
  • Our BY BEIER GERMANY rattan bows, known as strongbows, are made from high-quality rattan, a very flexible and durable material. The term “rattan” comes from Malay (“rotan”) and is also known as manau or rotang. After use, it should be stored unstrung to avoid string follow.
What is a horse bow?
  • A compact bow for shooting while standing or riding, e.g. Mongolian horse bow or Magyar horse bow.
What is a dry fire and why should it be avoided?
  • A dry fire occurs when a bow is shot without an arrow. This can damage the bow because the stored energy is not released properly.
How do I find my correct draw length?
  • The easiest way is to measure using a draw arrow. The arrow is nocked, the bow is drawn, and a second person reads the value at the front edge of the bow. Alternatively, measure arm length: stretch one arm sideways and measure from the deepest point between thumb and index finger to the lips. The value in cm must be converted to inches. The wingspan from middle finger to middle finger divided by 2.54 gives the draw length in inches. This is our recommendation, although it may be imprecise.
What does “68” 40 lbs @ 28” mean?
  • Bow length 68 inches (~172.7 cm), draw weight 40 lbs (~18.1 kg) at a draw length of 28 inches (~71.1 cm).
What clothing and protection are needed for archery?
  • Tight-fitting clothing on arms and hands
  • Shooting glove or tab for the fingers
  • Arm guard to avoid contact with the string
Why is an arrow stop net important?
  • It catches missed shots and protects the surroundings and people.
What is brace height and how do I adjust it?
  • Brace height = distance from the deepest point of the riser (grip) to the string when strung. It influences shooting performance and varies depending on the bow model.
What is string walking?
  • A technique where the string is gripped at different points to shoot different distances. Requires practice and precision.

What types of crossbows are available?
  • Compound crossbow: With cams and cables, reduced draw weight
  • Recurve crossbow: Traditional design
  • Mini crossbow: Compact, for beginners or recreational use
  • Hunting crossbow: Higher energy, precise for hunting
What is a magazine-fed crossbow?
  • Allows fast reloading and shooting multiple bolts in succession.
What does “fps” mean for crossbows?
  • “Feet per second” – bolt speed. 1 fps ≈ 0.3048 m/s.

🛡️ Warranty & Complaints

What warranty do you offer?
  • We offer a 30-year warranty on selected bows. All other products: 2-year statutory warranty.
Which complaints are excluded?
  • Production-related flash or porous surfaces on 3D targets / LARP foam heads
  • Minor weaving defects on arrow stop nets
  • Draw weight deviations up to ±2 lbs
  • Production streaks on fiberglass laminates
  • Normal wear or improper use
