Since the beginning of 2014 we have been offering thinner quills, in line with the trend towards slimmer and colored arrow shafts. The slimmer keels are both aesthetic and functional, improving the performance of the spring punches. All single-colored feathers are now delivered with reduced keel thicknesses.
Arrow feathers with reduced keel from Bogensport Beier
In the past we have often received a request for feathers with a less thick keel, and we have been able to fulfill this since the beginning of 2014. The trend towards thinner arrow shafts and colored arrow shafts in particular underlines the desire for reduced keel thicknesses. Here the thick white quills were often a visual problem.
With the plain-colored Bogensport Beier natural feathers, the keel can be reduced to such an extent that, as an adhesive carrier, it is thick enough to secure the feather stably and firmly to the shaft, but at the same time thin enough to enhance the arrow's appearance. With such attractive arrows, archery becomes more fun.
Those who punch their feathers themselves also require less force when punching, which in turn significantly improves the life of the feather punches.
